On November 21, the Foundation held the 23rd annual solidarity dinner The Night of the Eyes of the world, with the aim of raising funds for cooperation projects and continuing to raise awareness of the precarious situation of eye care worldwide.

The event took place at the Auditorium of the Industrial School, with the support of 215 guests who contributed 130,000 euros to Eyes of the world’s activities to ensure universal access to quality and equitable ophthalmological check-ups and treatment.

Under the slogan “Eyes for Peace”, linked to the current context of war and conflicts worldwide, The Night has established itself as the reference event in the annual agenda of initiatives aimed at the defense of human rights in Catalonia; specifically in the promotion and protection of the universal right to vision.

The event was hosted by TV3 journalist Carolina Rosich and singer and composer Guille Milkyway. The opening speech was given by the actor Josep Maria Pou and the cellist of the Orquestra del Liceu Cristoforo Pestalozzi participated. The director of the Foundation Anna Barba, the president Rafael Ribó, the vice-president Borja Corcóstegui and the patron of the Foundation, Leonor Beleza, also intervened.

Throughout the evening there were speeches, performances and video testimonials of the activities carried out by the Foundation, which allowed the attendees to learn more about the values, challenges and successes of Eyes of the world.
